EBOO Ozone Blood Therapy in Houston | iVitality MD

EBOO Therapy

EBOO therapy in Houston: the short version

EBOO (extracorporeal blood oxygenation and ozonation) treats your blood in a continuous circuit: out of one arm, through a filtration and ozonation stage, and back into the other. Far more blood is processed per session than with a standard IV ozone treatment, which is why it is the most involved ozone route we offer and rarely a first appointment.

At iVitality MD every EBOO plan is reviewed and supervised by Dr. Bismah Irfan, MD, board certified in Internal Medicine and Nephrology. Screening comes before booking: G6PD deficiency, an active bleeding disorder, uncontrolled hyperthyroidism, pregnancy, or a recent heart attack or stroke each rule EBOO out.

We are in Westchase at 12000 Richmond Ave, Suite 230, Houston, TX 77082, near the Beltway 8 and Richmond intersection, with parking on site. Patients come to us from across Houston as well as Katy, Sugar Land, and Bellaire. Questions or booking: 832-743-2025. Not sure EBOO is the right route? Start with ozone therapy in Houston, where we compare all four delivery methods we offer.

Frequently Asked Questions

What is EBOO Therapy?
EBOO (Extracorporeal Blood Oxygenation and Ozonation) is an advanced therapy where blood is gently drawn, infused with ozone and oxygen, filtered to remove toxins, and then reintroduced into the body. This process supports detoxification, circulation, and immune health.
How long does an EBOO session take?
Most sessions last 25–50 minutes. Many patients feel relaxed, and some even nap during treatment.
Is EBOO Therapy safe?
Yes. When performed under medical supervision, EBOO is considered safe. Our team follows strict protocols to ensure comfort and safety.
How many sessions will I need?
It depends on your health goals and condition. Some patients choose a few sessions for general wellness, while others with chronic conditions may need a structured treatment plan. Our physician will guide you during your complimentary consultation.
What conditions can EBOO help with?
EBOO may support individuals with cardiovascular issues, diabetes complications, autoimmune conditions, chronic infections, fatigue, liver and detox concerns, and more. It also promotes energy, circulation, and general wellness.
Will I feel any side effects?
Most patients feel energized and refreshed after sessions. Occasionally, mild detox symptoms (like fatigue or light headache) may occur as the body eliminates toxins—these are temporary.
Do I need downtime after EBOO Therapy?
No downtime is required. Patients usually resume normal activities immediately after treatment.
How is EBOO different from other ozone therapies?
Traditional ozone treatments handle smaller blood volumes. EBOO treats a larger volume in one session, leading to deeper detoxification and stronger therapeutic effects.
Who should not do EBOO Therapy?
It may not be suitable for people with certain bleeding disorders, uncontrolled hypertension, or specific medical conditions. Our physician will review your history to ensure it’s appropriate for you.
Is EBOO Therapy covered by insurance?
No. EBOO Therapy is a cash-based service and is not covered by insurance.
Do I get to speak with a doctor before starting?
Yes! With every booked EBOO session, you’ll receive a FREE 30-minute virtual consultation with our physician to review your health, customize your plan, and answer questions.

Why a nephrologist supervises EBOO here

EBOO borrows its core mechanics from dialysis: an extracorporeal circuit, a filter membrane, and blood moving outside the body under controlled flow. That is Dr. Irfan's home territory. She is board certified in Nephrology by the American Board of Internal Medicine and completed her nephrology fellowship at Albert Einstein College of Medicine, so vascular access, fluid shifts, and kidney function are considered before any protocol is. Most clinics offering EBOO do not name a supervising physician at all; here the supervising physician is the one specialty that works with extracorporeal blood circuits every day.

What the research actually shows

The most cited clinical evidence for EBOO is a 2005 controlled trial in patients with peripheral artery disease (Di Paolo and colleagues, The International Journal of Artificial Organs): patients receiving EBOO showed greater regression of skin lesions and reported less discomfort than the comparison group treated with prostacyclin. It is a small trial, the wider evidence base for ozone therapies is uneven, and EBOO is not approved by the FDA for the treatment of any medical condition. We offer it as supportive care alongside conventional diagnosis and treatment, not in place of them.

Before your first session

You start with a consultation, not a treatment. Dr. Irfan reviews your history, medications, and recent labs, orders anything missing, and confirms EBOO is the right route rather than a gentler one. Day-of preparation is simple: arrive hydrated and eat a light meal. Specific instructions, including any supplements to pause beforehand, come with your booking confirmation.
